ADUK Professional Fellowship Programme 2017

ADUK-green-A-blockThe ADUK Professional Fellowship Programme is now open for submissi0ns reflecting your CPD development in 2016/17. Members can enrol in the programme now by completing a questionnaire at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ADUK_PFSurvey2017.

The scheme will be open until May 2017 and we strongly advise all members to take part, as one of the benefits of your membership, and please remember that this is an annual programme so if you do not take part this year you will lose your previous fellowship points.  For more information about the Fellowship programme visit: http://artsdevelopmentuk.org/training-and-cpd/professional-fellowship-programme/.

Did you know that if you attend an ADUK conference, seminar or regional event you can earn credits as a Fellow on our Professional Development Programme? Help raise the profile of arts development and reputation of the excellent work our members do by joining today and being part of a community of respected professionals. The core of Arts Development UK’s Continuing Professional Development is gained through experiential learning. Developing Arts Development UK as a Professional Association will enable us to:

  • Set standards and define quality of performance for professionals working with arts/cultural and creative business sectors
  • Support the development of skills and professional competencies through a membership structure that enables individual progression by members at their own pace
  • Encourage and guide individuals using experiential learning techniques
  • Enable professional networking and knowledge and skills exchanges
  • Focus training and support on specific management competencies.

Organisational members of ADUK can register up to five individuals from their organisation to sign up to the Professional Fellowship Programme. Individual members also have one place. There are three Fellowship bands:

  • Associate Fellow status: for those being awarded over 50 credits in a membership year (1st April to 31st March)
  • Fellow status: for those being awarded over 100 credits in a membership year, and
  • Senior Fellow status: for those awarded over 150 credits in a membership year.

The certificated programme operates by individuals completing an online questionnaire recording their CPD achievement in each membership year. Members may remember that previous fellowship programmes operated in a calendar year, but we have changed things this year to accommodate your credits earned in attending the ADUK Conference. Previous experience and qualifications will also be recorded as part of the assessment. Credit points will be awarded for a range of different CPD initiatives completed, through services provided by ADUK or by other organisations. Why not join the fellowship programme if you are not already a participant?

Diana Pasek-Atkinson, chair of ADUK’s Professional Development Working party and Hub Business Advisor at Nottingham Trent University said “Wherever you are in your career, ADUK intends to help members to develop the latest skills, signposting them to relevant qualifications, helping them to learn more about arts development and making them part of a big community of respected professionals.”

Sue Isherwood, Director of the National Culture Forum’s Leading Learning Programme stated that “ADUK’s initiative is most welcome. It is high time that the arts development professional found a way to recognise its distinctive approach to learning and doing so I commend the fellowship pathways to all present and future members.’

I’m proud to put the Arts Development UK initials to my signature and believe it is becoming a recognised benefit in the workplace.’ Catherine Rogers – Creative Leicestershire Manager
