AD:uk EM Regional Meeting & Study Day

Friday 23 November, 10am – 4pm
Hosted by Chesterfield Borough Council
Diana Pasek-Atkinson, Kevin Tennant andLucia Masundireyour East Midlands Regional Coordinators andPamela Butler, Arts Officer (Development, Education & Community), Chesterfield BC would like to invite you to the regional meeting for members of AD:uk. This day will combine the regional meeting and a study tour of Chesterfield BC. The study tour will give you the opportunity to understand the ways in which Arts Development can be integrated into a programme of regeneration. As well as hearing from officers of Chesterfield BC, you will also be able to go on a tour of the venues and some of the newest public art that is contributing to the regeneration of Chesterfield.

For members this is a great opportunity to meet colleagues across the region and find out how Arts Development is working in another area. You will also receive 2 credits towards the AD:uk Fellowship Programme. For non-members it is a great way to hear about the work that members of Arts Development UK carry out in the region.

Study Tour: Chesterfield is taking a leap forward into an exciting new future as multi-million pound regeneration schemes bring change across the town. While other local authorities have cut support to arts and culture Chesterfield, despite having some of England’s highest areas of deprivation and facing budget cuts, sees a vibrant, engaging cultural offer as a central element in our vision for the town’s future. We’ll be focussing on the contribution of the Venues, with a theatre tour, and on our public art contribution to regeneration with (weather permitting) a walk past the Spire Church, to the Yards, via the Market Hall to Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture Rosewall & back.

If you would like to attend please RSVP by Friday 17 November to: lucia.masundire@leics.gov.uk. Non-members are also welcome to attend. Places are limited, so book as soon as possible.

If you have any questions please do get in touch with one of the EM regional coordinators:
