One week left to submit a response on licensing deregulation

area: England and Wales
deadline: 3 December 2011

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has been running a consultation on proposals to deregulate Schedule 1 of the Licensing Act 2003 relating to the performance of regulated entertainment. The consultation seeks views on the removal in certain circumstances of the requirement for a licence in England and Wales to host a performance of a play, an exhibition of a film, an indoor sporting event, a performance of live music, any playing of recorded music, or a performance of dance.

The consultation document is available at: www.culture.gov.uk/images/consultations/consultation_deregulation-scheduleone_2011_vs2.pdf with responses to be sent directly to DCMS by email to: regulated_entertainment_consultation@culture.gsi.gov.uk by 3 December 2011.
