Consultation on deregulation of the Licensing Act 2003

You have until 3rd December to respond to the consultation on the Licensing Act. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has launched a consultation on proposals to deregulate Schedule 1 of the Licensing Act 2003 relating to the performance of regulated entertainment.

The consultation seeks views on the removal in certain circumstances of the requirement for a licence in England and Wales to host a performance of a play, an exhibition of a film, an indoor sporting event, a performance of live music, any playing of recorded music, or a performance of dance.

If you would like to participate, please read the consultation document at www.culture.gov.uk/images/consultations/consultation_deregulation-scheduleone_2011_vs2.pdf. Respond directly to DCMS by email to regulated_entertainment_consultation@culture.gsi.gov.uk, and please note that the deadline is 3 December 2011. We would be grateful if you could send us a copy of your response at artsdevUK@aol.com so that we can take any member responses into consideration for our response, if there is time to do so.
