Epic Awards 2011 – Open to Arts Groups across the UK & Ireland

Entries for the 2011 Epic Awards are now being accepted from arts and crafts groups across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The Epic Awards are an initiative of Voluntary Arts – the development agency for arts participation – and are designed to draw attention to the excellent work taking place within the voluntary and amateur arts sector. The awards aim to provide groups with the opportunity to raise their profile and to win a package of prizes including training, equipment and publicity. Following the success of the first Epic Awards in 2010, the scheme has been extended to groups across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, with a winner and a runner up from each nation.

Arts Development UK, as last year, is giving complimentary membership worth £165 to the winning organisations. Winners will also receive other prizes including £250 worth of GreatArt gift vouchers and have their work showcased to millions. The runner-up in each nation will receive £100 worth of gift vouchers to be redeemed at GreatArt.

Voluntary or amateur art and craft groups / organisations in the United Kingdom and Ireland can apply if they meet these criteria:

  • The arts and crafts that people undertake are for self-improvement, social networking and leisure, but not primarily for payment
  • The group is self-organised
  • The group is a not-for-profit community group where arts and crafts make up most or all of the group’s activities

The deadline for receipt of entries is 11 November 2011 (5pm). Click here to access the online application guidance (opens in new window).
